A Lifeline From Our Sisterhood to the Trees
This is a call to women everywhere.
Maidens, mothers, crones. Daughters, sisters, aunts, and grandmothers. Young and old alike.
A lifeline from our sisterhood to the trees.
Are you a tree-lover?
If you know me at all, you know how deeply in love I am with trees.
I think my love affair with trees began on a hot summer day in Detroit when I was a child.
I went outside to play and instead discovered that the majestic American Elm tree that graced our home with its beauty and its shade had fallen ill with Dutch Elm disease.
Every leaf on the tree had shriveled up and fallen off.
I cried like a baby.
The smell of pine trees from our yearly trek to Northern Michigan every summer remains one of my favorites. So much so that I regularly burn pine resin when I’m writing.
It’s burning right now.
I ache for trees.
I hug them.
I see faces in them.
I name them.
As I search for a place to move to, one thing is certain. There will be trees. Lots and lots of them. As in, a forest nearby.
I seek them out when I feel ungrounded, or sad, or confused.
They are always there for me.
We would not be here but for the trees. And they are disappearing at an alarming rate.
One day I happened upon Clare Dubois and her Tree Sister’s organization. I felt immediately at home and found a greater purpose for my love of trees.
I became a TreeSister.
“TreeSisters aims to radically accelerate tropical reforestation by engaging the unique feminine consciousness, gifts, and leadership of women everywhere and focusing it towards re-robing the planet in green. This is an invitation for the co-creativity of women to rise like a tide on behalf of the trees. ” — Clare Dubois
Imagine a reforestation revolution ignited by the shared creativity and courage of a global network of millions of women – and you are one of them.

Trees breathe life into our beautiful planet.
P.S. I’ve decided to begin donating 11% of all Ayurvedic Consultations and Energy Healing Sessions to TreeSisters. In that way, I will feel an even deeper connection to the trees and hopefully my clients will, as well.
