This majestic guardian tree located in The Burren, Ireland called to me where it stood guard on the banks of a river. You can send the Burren Guardian Tree note card to someone in need of strength or protection. The Burren is Irish (Boireann) meaning “great rock.” I decided to offer these cards on a larger scale since many of you have requested prints and cards of my photography and artwork. I am also available for family photo shoots. You may contact me here.

Are you a tree-lover?
If you know me at all, you know how deeply in love I am with trees.
I think my love affair with trees began on a hot summer day in Detroit when I was a child.
I went outside to play and instead discovered that the majestic American Elm tree that graced our home with its beauty and its shade had fallen ill with Dutch Elm disease.
Every leaf on the tree had shriveled up and fallen off.
I cried like a baby.
The smell of pine trees from our yearly trek to Northern Michigan every summer remains one of my favorites. So much so that I regularly burn pine resin when I’m writing.
It’s burning right now.
I ache for trees.
I hug them.
I see faces in them.
I name them.
As I search for a place to move to, one thing is certain. There will be trees. Lots and lots of them. As in, a forest nearby.
I seek them out when I feel ungrounded, or sad, or confused.
They are always there for me.
